Palm Springs Official Drink: The Margaritta!

When the stars have had enough of the craziness of Hollywood they head for the Oasis in the desert that is known as Palm Springs. Clean air, healing spring waters, and towering mountains make Palm Springs the perfect escape from the dirty air and smog of distant metro areas.
For those that enjoy world class golfing, magnificent hiking trails , designer shopping and luxurious spas , Palm Springs is the ultimate get away. Why else did celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Sonny Bono choose to live here? In the past few years strings of trendy new boutique hotels created by some of America's leading architects and top designers have sprung up on Palm Canyon Drive. Shop until you drop at any one of the fabulous boutiques, then refresh your spirit with a delicious cocktail. All of the bars have outdoor patios for optimum people watching. The Fifties resurgance and cocktail-cool have morphed into a sort of " Martini Modernism", where style and sophistication meld together in a fun and quirky way. With only four hours drive from Vegas and only two from Los Angeles, Palm Springs completes a fashionable and retro desert triangle.

Village Pub

Palm Springs, CA

The Village Pub bills itself as having The Best Happy Hour in town starting at 3:30pm daily, cheap drinks paired with cheap drunks!
The Village Grub is more like it....ewwwwww! The food sucks, the service is lousy, the bands are a (bad) throwback from the 80's- yet the place is always busy! We do not recommend it, and would advise you look elsewhere for food and entertainment.

Currently residing in the old Ruby’s Dunes Restaurant Building, this location was a favorite “watering hole” in the 50's and 60's for such celebrities as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. when they were traveling between Las Vegas and Palm Springs. Nothing pretensious here, just cold drinks without the fancy names and prices. You nevber know who you'll run into, but duriong the day it's a popular spot with the local drunkards.

WINE BISTRO

198 S. Palm Canyon Drive
Palm Springs
Tel: 760 322 6300

This storefront bistro, really stands out amongst the fast-food-heavy Palm Canyon Drive. Chef Nicolas Klontz, from Belgium turns out wonderful dishes from his homeland, including steamed mussels and of course everyones favorite ; pommes frites. He has included some homey comfort food, including a tender version of buttermilk fried chicken. For a special dessert try the chèvre cheesecake served with crème fraîche and balsamic-infused raspberries. The chefs hand pick each wine exclusively from small regional producers, and the list highlights Zinfandel and other American wines.

Great nightclub but the line is very long. Make sure you get there early. Great place to go for a bachelorette party. They let the bride and her maid of honor in free otherwise it cost $10 to get in. Drinks are a little pricey but the music is really good and the dance floor is packed.
